Jeffrey M. Rosenberg

Jeff has over a decade of experience litigating real estate and business disputes in New York and New Jersey, and counseling clients on real estate issues arising throughout the United States. He advocates for parties at the trial and appellate levels, as well as before Federal, state and local administrative agencies.  His experience includes landlord-tenant matters ranging from evictions to disputes over lease interpretation to violations of the Federal Fair Housing Act;  representing owners and contractors in  the prosecution and defense of mechanic’s lien actions;  foreclosing mortgages on commercial properties; enforcing creditors’ rights through state court proceedings on judgments and lifting the automatic stay in bankruptcy proceedings; and asserting members’ rights against oppressive conduct by fellow members in closely-held businesses.

Jeff approaches real estate and business transactions from a seasoned litigator’s perspective.  He crafts transactional agreements addressing potentially contentious issues at the outset, including language designed to foster productive relationships between the parties and pre-empt litigation from the start.  He has represented parties to real estate transactions large and small, with an emphasis on office and retail leasing.  Prior to founding Rosenberg & Rosenberg LLP, Jeff practiced both litigation and transactional law at two established New York City real estate firms, and a third firm which practiced civil litigation exclusively.

Jeff earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he was on the staff of the Urban Law Journal, and volunteered as an advocate for the Unemployment Action Center.   Jeff completed his undergraduate studies at Binghamton University, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and served as President of the Jewish Student Union.   Jeff is admitted to practice law in all New York and New Jersey state courts, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.
